About The Event

We are proud to let you know that the Young Achiever –Smart edition garnered a participation of 5000 students from 80+schools across Hyderabad. We take great pleasure in inviting you to participate in this year’s   Gray Matters Young Achiever – Assessment of Critical Thinking (ACT) in Science and Mathematics.  ACT is now being launched in multiple cities across India.

Young Achiever – ACT, focuses on Science and Mathematics skills of students, helping them compete conceptually in the real world. It challenges students to use tools in their reasoning armoury to solve questions that are application oriented.  The challenge is targeted at students in classes 4-10 in schools across Hyderabad and costs INR 120/- per student.

Gray Matters India (GMI, Gray Matters) is a social enterprise that aspires to transform school education landscape in India using  assessments  and  analytics  to  improve  student  learning  outcomes.  Since  2009,  Gray  Matters  has  worked  across Hyderabad,  Delhi,  Bangalore,  Mumbai  and  in 11  states  including  Haryana,  Maharashtra,  Rajasthan,  Telangana,  Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka assessing more than 350,000 students and 25,000 teachers in Government and Private Schools.


Terms & Conditions



  1. A standardized assessment covering a child’s ability in Mathematics and Science
  2. Exam  would be paper-based asessment conducted on a single day at multiple centers across the city
  3. The assessment is a MCQs and the responses are collected in OMR sheets
  4. Test duration is 90 minutes with 40-60 questions in each of the 2 papers.
  5. Test is applicable to students in classes 4 to 10


  1. There is no negative marking
  2. Students will be assessed and graded using analytic frameworks developed by the organizers.
  3. Participants can know their results from the school.
  4. Post the test, a printed report on child’s performance is provided and the best  performers are rewarded


  1. Registration fee: INR 120/-
  2. Registration fee covers participation in the test, indiviual student report and certificate.
  3. When more than 50 students are participating from any single school a discount of INR 20/- per student will be given to the school for managing registrations


  1. Enrolments through school will be closed 31st December 2015
  2. Assessment – 3rd week of January 2016
  3. Assessment results on the website – 2nd week of March 2016
  4. Assessment awards announcement in 2nd week of March 2016
