Mr. Samir C. Basu

Former Corporate HR Manager – Everready Industries India Ltd, Master of PM & IR from Tata  Institute of Social Sciences,Mumbai with more than 36 years of industry experience in Indian Labour Laws, LTA Negotiations, Industrial Actions, Managerial Compensation Revisions, Policy & procedure formulation & compilation, Personnel Audit in Private Sector Industries.


He has worked for companies like Pfyzers, Tata Electric Company, Mumbai and Eveready Industries India Ltd. (formerly Union Carbide India Ltd.) in welfare, IR & HR at plant and corporate level. He retired as Corporate Manager – Staff Relations, Eveready Industries India Ltd., Kolkata. 


  • He is a visiting faculty in some of the eminent Business Schools in Kolkata.
  • Mr. Basu has conducted training across India as Trainer and Co Trainer on various labour related subjects like Employment laws, Communication Techniques, Disciplinary actions, Negotiation Skills and others.  He has also been associated with companies like Stone India Ltd., Britannia Industries India Ltd., Mcnali Bharat, Vijaya Bank for various Management Development Programs.
  • He has delivered training intervention to senior Management and middle management across India.
  • He has published a paper titled “Is VRS an Expense or an Investment for a Company?” paper submitted in International Conference on Business & Information Management, organised by National Institute of Technology, Durgapur, January, 2012. The same was published in the proceedings of the Conference.
  • He has rich experience in Indian Legal Framework including Minimum Wages Act, Payment of Wages Act, Factories Act, Plantation Labor Act, Payment of Gratuity Act, Bonus Act, Provident Fund and Pension Fund Act, Industrial Labour Standing orders Act, Industrial Disputes Act.
  • He also has  experience in LTA Negotiations, Industrial Actions, Managerial Compensation Revisions, Policy & procedure formulation & compilation, Personnel Audit.
