Nandi Hill is located around 65 kms from Bengaluru. It is a symbol of pride for the people of 'Garden City' and is one of the greatest icons which remind us of the past glory of Bengaluru. As the city is marching ahead aggressively to become one of the fastest growing metropolis, there is a pressing need to remind people on the importance of saving Bengaluru's rich cultural and natural heritage.
United Way Bengaluru has conceptualized an annual city fund raising event Nandi Hillathon to enable communities to raise funds to protect, preserve and promote Bengaluru's Treasures.
United Way Bengaluru is one of the city's leading not for profit organisations which works tirelessly to bring a sustainable change in the society by providing equal opportunities to people from vulnerable communities. It works in the areas of Livelihood, Health, Environment and Education to create visible change and offers long lasting solutions.
It brings the government, corporates, non-profits and citizens on a common platform to resolve issues that matter to the city's community. Its two flagship campaigns are 'Wake the Lake' and 'Born Learning Campaign'.

How it is different from other runs:
Every rupee that is raised by the Neigborhood will go back to the community. No money is retained back by the organizers.
This is an annual city wide fundraiser event which will be anchored by United Way to encourage RWAs and citizens to raises resources for their neighborhood without any efforts of their own - money and time. Only registration and participation in Nandi Hillathon is solicited.
Other runs undertaken in the city are for specific causes, no citywide fundraiser has ever been organized to improve neighborhoods.
