He is credited with the revival and popularity of ghazal through his music in films and in 2003, he was honoured with the Padma Bhushan, India’s third highest civilian award. Man who gave ghazal singing a completely new perspective and outlook. Padma Bhushan Jagjit Singh turns 70 this year.
