About The Event

Scope:

The Internet of Things (IoT) is expected to emerge as a huge business opportunity for the Indian IT industry in the years ahead. According to a Gartner Report, the global IoT industry would be worth USD 300 billion by 2020, with connected devices increasing to 2.7 billion by that year. India, it is projected, will have a 5-6 percent share of this industry.
The expansion of IoT in the country is expected to be spurred by several developments:

  • The proliferation of sensors, which will work with an ever growing number of intelligent systems and applications.
  • The Indian Government's plan of developing 100 smart cities in the country, for which Rs. 7,060 crore has been allocated in the current budget.
  • The launch of the Digital India Program of the Government, which aims at 'transforming India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy.
  • The Indian IT industry has an opportunity to provide software applications, services and analytics related to IoT over the next few years

  6. Software & Hardware platforms for IoT implementation
  7. Introduction to Arduino Hardware & IDE

Practicals:

  1. Arduino IDE Installation
  2. Understanding Arduino Libraries
  3. Working with Analog I/O's
  4. Working with Digital I/O's
  5. Software Serial Library in Arduino 
  6. Working with PWM outputs

Day-2

  1. Introduction to DHT11 Temperature and Humidity measurement 
  2. Introduction to Ultrasonic Sensor
  3. Introduction to PIR Motion sensor
  4. Introduction to Actuators (DC Motor, Servo Motor and Relay)
  5. Introduction to Bluetooth Technology

Practicals:

  1. Outdoor Temperature & Humidity Monitoring using DHT11
  2. Motion Detection using PIR sensor
  3. Distance Measurement using Ultrasonic Sensor
  4. Practical with Servo Motor and Relay
  5. Interfacing HC-05 Bluetooth Device with Arduino 
  6. Home automation using Voice Commands & Bluetooth

Day-3 

  1. Introduction to NodeMCU (ESP8266-12E)
  2. Introduction to NodeMCU firmware
  3. NodeMCU as Server and Client
  4. NodeMCU as an Access Point
  5. Mobile Communication using Sim800 (GSM/GPRS Module)
  6. Introduction to various Notification Servers

Practicals:

  1. Control of equipment using ESP8266+NODE MCU Webserver
  2. Automatic Phone/Email Notification based on Event trigger using IFTTT
  3. NodeMCU as an Access Point
  4. Mobile Weather Station using NodeMCU
  5. Home automation using Sim 800 using Mobile Communication

Day-4 

  1. Introduction to IOT Cloud Platforms and API
  2. TCP /IP/HTTP  Protocol 
  3. Client and Server Communication
  4. Introduction Smart Bridge, ThingSpeak, Google Firebase IOT Cloud 
  5. Uploading sensor data to Cloud using API’s
  6. Data Visualization, Data Analytics, Plugins, Import & Export
  7. Sending and Receiving Data from IOT Cloud using ESP8266
  8. Introduction to MIT App Inventor

Practicals:

  1. Sending and Receiving Data from IOT Cloud using ESP8266
  2. Uploading Temperature & Humidity data to ThingSpeak Cloud & Ubidots cloud using wifi
  3. Building Mobile Application using MIT App Inventor
