About The Event

Do you have an amazing idea and want to prototype?

If the answer for all above questions is YES, then this one day workshop is the answer. Get your hands dirty on 3D printing and followed by a great training support and walk away with a prototype in your hand.This class is for inventors, creators, artists, entrepreneurs, SMEs and everyone in between who has intermediate computer skills and an idea for a prototype. The course is designed for users in professional and educational environments to help increase your productivity and return on investment.

In this workshop we'll give you some basic understanding by putting some 3D printers into action. And yes, you'll leave the room with your prints; free of charge everything is included in the training fee. You'll gain exposure to the main facets of 3D Printing including 3D Scanning, 3D Modeling, preparing the file for print, and finally, 3D Print. No formal qualifications are needed, just basic PC skills. We will provide free links for downloading the necessary software and resources required for the course.Isn't that amazing a full day workshop ending with some kick ass people,awesome food and entrepreneurial spirit.

In the first Half, our team will train students you on 3D printing and how one can create, think and print objects using 3D printers. The class will start with introduction of 3D printing, following the setup and necessary software. By the end of the sessions you will able to make their own simple 3D design. Followed by lunch, in the second half our team will work with the participants on their models to optimize design and print settings and then will refine, slice, and print again.Throughout the day there should be plenty of time for one on one discussion and tutoring as the class.

Session 1 10am-1.30pm

  • The Basics of Sketch up for 3D Printing
  • Installation and Testing of 3D Printer
  • Pronterface/Repetier Host
  • Slic3r Optimization – Getting Good gCode

Lunch Break and networking 1 hr

 

Session 2 2.30pm-6.30pm

  • Operating a 3D Printer
  • Make your own 3D design
  • Evaluate the Prototype and Tips to Improve It
  • Advanced Topics, Latest Trends, Tips and Tricks – More hands-on 3D Printing Training

Requirements

Please carry your own laptops. Workshop don't require any technical knowledge but basic computer understanding.

On the spot registrations are not allowed as well as student/college id cards to be bought to the venue.

His core area of expertise in 3D Printing includes FFF, paste dispensation, 3D Printing materials, 3D Printer designs and applications of 3D Printing. He has been featured at various international websites like 3D Printing Industry, Micro fabricator etc. for his 3DP endeavours.

Aviral Kedia: Aviral is also a founding Director at Global 3D Labs. He is an alumnus of MIT, Manipal and holds a degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering. His core area of expertise in 3D Printing includes 3D Printing Firmware, 3DP software & their optimisation, 3D Modelling software and trouble shooting and common errors in FFF machines. He is on a mission to make 3D printing affordable to the masses through constant R&D.
