 1. About Saraswati Maa

As per Hindu mythology, Maa Saraswati is the wife of Brahma the creator and the goddess of intelligence, wisdom, memory power, music and speech aesthetics. She possesses veena which symbolizes music and books symbolising the wealth of knowledge. She is chiefly associated with the color White, signifying the purity of true knowledge.

HAMSA, The Swan, is said to be Vahana of Saraswati maa and always seen next to Saraswati Maa. This sacred white bird has a superior capability of separating milk alone when offered with a mixture of milk and water. This symbolises differentiation of good from bad or eternal from fugitive. Thus, Maa saraswati bestows with same power when one worships her.Saraswathi maa is often portrayed sitting on a ROCK. Rock is poised on earth and is firm and stable at its place. This signifies the knowledge or wisdom we earn, no matter what, it remains stable. 

2. Significance & Benefits of Saraswati Homam on Moola Nakshtra

Moola Nakshatram is janma nakshatra of Maa Saraswati

Any pooja performed for the purpose of "Loka Kalyanam", ones taking part in it are showered with prosperity in blessing. 

Saraswati Ma bestones us with knowledge which is firm and flows rapidly and increases with efforts.

Saraswati Maa floods earth with light, when worshipped, dispenses the light rays of wisdom to all corners of earth.

Saraswati maa presents with power of speech, treasure of wisdom  and intellect analysing capabilities and linguistic talents.

3. Other events happening during Saraswati Homam.

While the saraswathi homam is performed, even Aruna paryanam, Mahanyasa purvaka ekadasa Rudrabhishekam are done at the same yagashala.

a) Aruna Parayanam for betterment of any health issues with blessings of surya Bhagawan."AROGYAM BHASKARAD ICCHETH".It means you want health, worship lord in form of Surya bhagwan.

b) Mahanyasa purvaka Rudrabhishekam for blessings of Lord Shiva, the destroyer of evil to pave path to virtue in mint condition.

4. About Viswanatha Saraswati

1. Sri Viswanatha Saraswathi is a Saraswathi Upasaka and also a famous Astrologer from Hyderabad.
2. Sri Viswanatha Saraswathi organizes Saraswathi Homam on every Moola Nakshatram for Loka Kalyanam 
3. On behest of Maa Saraswathi guruji constructed Gnana Saraswathi Temple on banks of Bheema River at Ghanghapur in a span of 108 days.
4. Till date, guruji accomplished 125 Saraswati homams for Loka Kalyanam. The current one is 126th. 

5. Why the current generation needs to participate in Saraswati Homam.

Since ancient days all gurukul students, every day, used to pay their respects to Maa Saraswati saying "Saraswati Namstubhyam....." before starting their learning from Guru, believing that she will help them to focus on learning and gain wisdom to apply the learnings in real life.

Compared to earlier days, current generation students have an infinite number of choices, from Tiktok to Whatsapp, to get distracted from the process of learning. With the lockdown situation, the process of learning may move online for quite some time and extra focus on learning is going to be very important. The learning should not be for achieving high marks but to use the learned knowledge in unexpected scenarios like Coronavirus Pandemic. So Saraswati Homam is highly recommended for all the students of the current generation.

During these pandemic times, it is not advisable to make the student attend Saraswati Homam by stepping out or inviting pandit to home. So for the benefit of all the students and their parents we Janata Temple are bringing Saraswati Homam conducted by Viswanatha Saraswati Guruji online via zoom on 4th July 2020 on the day of Moola Nakshtra. We are requesting students and parents to make use of this opportunity and register for this ePuja and attend it via zoom call.

6. How it works

Once you book the ticket on Meraevents, we will send you a zoom meeting url with password. 

We will allow six names per ticket in Sankalpam. You will join a zoom call to interact with pandit for Sankalpam. Then you can proceed to view individual feeds of Saraswati Homam or Aruna Parayanam or Rudrabhishekam. Or you can view the combined live stream on facebook. Please note that only paid ticket holders will get to join the Zoom call and they will get a chance to be included in Sankalpam and interact with Pandits.
