What if we told you that just a few hours away from the city heat, lies a giant lake, where the water reflects the galaxy itself at night. Where you can take a walk in the forest and see hundreds of fireflies hover by as they illuminate the woods in a mesmerising dance. Come along and experience nature at it's glorious best at Bhandardara!
When? 3rd-4th June
What are we doing?
DAY 1:
Getting to Bhandardara can be long and painful. Which is why the last thing you want to do is get there alone. We'll be going via train from CST. Meet us at the ticket counter at 11:30am. We'll be playing some fun games along the way to make us forget how long the journey actually is.
We take jeeps from Kasara to Shendi along the scenic views of rural Maharashtra.
Tents will be allocated to you with matrresses and pillows. Following which we can go boating on the lake and head for a quick swim.
An early dinner of the local cuisine will be served, after which we head out to the forest with a guide to experience nature's wondrous phenomenon- FIREFLIES!
We will of course have a campfire, accompanied with guitars, singing & campfire games.
Feel free to stay up the night and gaze into the galaxy, if you wish.
DAY 2:
Wake up for breakfast by 8:00am. Go for a dip in the lake and click those last few photographs.
We head back to our jeeps by 10:00am & take the 1:30pm local from Kasara to VT.
What should I carry?
Packed lunch, extra pair of clothes, toiletries, towel, torch, shoes, slippers, rainwear (poncho/raincoat), personal medication, camera (optional), musical instruments (optional)
Important things I should know:
-Basic washroom facility is available a small walk away from the campsite. This is a camp, not a leisure trip. So one needs to prepare themselves accordingly.
-Due to unforeseen circumstances (eg. bad weather), the event MAY be called off. In which case, you will receive your entire refund.
-Firefly sightings are dependant on weather conditions. Ideally, this is the best time to sight them. However, we do not take responsibility for low firefly sightings.

What do I get?
Transport (Bombay-Bhandardara-Bombay), accommodation in tents (triple sharing with mattresses and pillows), meals (evening snacks, dinner & breakfast), boating, campfire, guide for forest trail, first aid, permissions, tolls & expertise.
