About Valley of flowers:

Valley of Flowers, the name itself exudes a sense of epic, like a land of deities, immortals and the undeads. A paradise of misanthropesthat promises prolonged lack of contact with what we optimistically call “civilization”. Nevertheless, if one has to experience nature in its most pristine form, this is the place to be in. Spread over 87.5 square kilometers (55 miles), this park is a part of the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO world heritage site. This high-altitude Himalayan valley which bursts into bloom during the monsoon season from mid-July through August. The glacial valley, ranging from 11,000 to 14,000 feet (3,353 to 4,267 meters), is protected from cold northern winds by 22,000-foot (6,706-meter) peaks, giving it a unique climate. Its dry mornings and misty afternoons promote more than 300 species of flowers, including poppies, orchids, and vast stands of rhododendron, which appear as a bright carpet of color against a mountainous snowcapped background. Valley of Flowers, and in fact the entire route leading to it, is a photographer’s paradise. You don’t have to scratch your head and ponder over angles, frames, exposure, composition and everything that haunts novice photographers.
