About The Event

Session 2 of 12! Voice. What is the role of Voice in an actor's performance? Actors use their voice to project outward emotion, matching it with body movements to interpret text and present a story. Because of this, voice cannot be thought of as an isolated skill, but rather a skill that requires coordination of the entire body. An actor's voice must be able to respond imaginatively to situation and character and communicate to an audience through any media or space. What's involved in Voice training for actors? Voice training involves relaxation, posture, breath, articulation/diction, tone, inflection, listening, rhythm, movement of the body. YouAndMe Theatre Voice Training event focuses on helping actors notice their habitual voice and how it can be trained to have a range that will enable actors to make themselves eligible for various kinds of characters and support their performances via various voice exercises, how to read text, how to enunciate and many other elements of voice use for an actor.
