Slam India, in partnership with DelSlam present The 2016 New Year Verses Playoff Festival.  Celebrate performance poetry, comedy and music with international and national acts all at one stage.

The Verses Playoff marquee of the Festival will be lit by bright names such as New York based trans performance poet Alok-Vaid Menon; indie folk musician Zoya from Southern California; one of Delhi's pre-eminent comedians, Parvinder; celebrated poet and feminist Aina Singh, winner of Women's Web Poetry Edition, Fiona Kezia Winston from Chennai and hailing from Hyderabad, stage and page poet Shivani Gupta. Feature Artists:


ALOK VAID-MENON is a trans femme south asian writer and performance artist based in New York City. They are currently on tour with Darkmatter, a trans South Asian art collaboration with Janani Balasubramanian. Alok has been invited to perform and facilitate at universities, conferences, and organizations across the world; their work has been published in various outlets like MTV, The Guardian, Buzzfeed, The New York Times, Upworthy, TEDx and more.



ZOYA MOHAN is a folk-fusion songstress and spoken word poet based in California. This new sound she has come to be known for has caught the attention of publications like the Huffington Post, Rolling Stone, MTV Indies, Wondering Sound and more. Zoya Music is currently on tour in India and will perform as a feature artist at The 2016 Verses Playoff Festival in Bangalore.
