Smashers Award

We’re Co-Hosting #TiESmashup and scouting our team of Smashers!

What is the Smashers Award ?

  • The 3 Co-Hosts of Smashup, seen above, will lead and mentor* a team of 2 startups each under their wing.
  • Collectively these six startups who qualify will be known as Smashers.
  • The Smashers will make a quick fire elevator pitch (5 min each) to the Co-Host panel and the audience followed by cross questioning (5 min) from the other 2 Co-Hosts.
  • The Co-Hosts and audience will collectively award points to each on the basis of their performance in the live cross-questioning.
  • The startup with most points will be awarded the Smashers Award!
  • Total duration of this show: 60 min on 6 April 2013.
  • Who Can (Apply) be a Smasher?
  • Entrepreneurs who have registered for Smash Up and head (existing) startups can apply for Smashers as a part of the registration process.
  • While submitting the form, each startup will have to select up to  2 Co Hosts whose team they would like to be a a part of.
  • Only those who register before 15 March, 2013 will be considered for Smashers.
  • The applying startups also need to share a recommendation/reference from a mentor/investor. Preference would be give to those who get a reference from an established venture capitalist/angel investor or a TiE Charter member
  • The first shortlist process will involve validation of the recommendation and other details shared by the startup.
  • Another round of short-listing may be conducted (depending upon the number of applications) for the Co-Hosts to select their final team.
