About The Event

THE KNEE JOINT

This knee course is very unlike your usual Arthro plasty/scopy course. This course is designed to bring you the latest information on etiopathogenesis of OA, biomarkers, tissue engineering, HTO, Partial knee replacements apart from the usual topics.

The highlight of this course is its emphasis on the Patellofemoral Joint which is usually neglected in most Knee meetings in India .

Patellofemoral problems are usually dealt with through two distinct approaches – American and French. Dr Demey from Lyon France is arriving to talk exclusively on Patellofemoral joint problems and how they address ACL and Posterolateral corner injuries. Dr Alam from the US will discuss the American approach. Other eminent Indian surgeons from around the country form the rest of the faculty.

The objective of this course is to give the attendees a holistic view of the knee joint including the soft tissues. Trainees in Orthopaedic Surgery will get to peek into the world of Arthroplasty and Ligament reconstructions to help them decide on their future career paths. Practising Orthopaedic surgeons will get to update themselves on the latest trends in various aspects of the Knee Joint. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own case studies for discussion with the faculty. The sessions will be interactive. To keep the interactions fruitful, it has been decided to restrict the number of delegates to 125.
