Writing Professional Resumes, Project Proposals, and White Papers

 

February 22nd , 2014 (Saturday), From 9.30 am to 5:30 pm

Introduction:

Technical Writers of India (TWIN) is the single largest community of technical communicators in India. For more information about TWIN, see www.twin-india.org. Over the last couple of decades, the technical communication profession has grown rapidly in India, especially in the IT industry, and is now fast becoming a sought-after career option.
This workshop teaches how to write resumes, project proposals, and white papers.

Course Overview:

Foundation Concepts: Introduces technical communication concepts and the technical communication process.

 


Writing Effectively: Discusses basic writing concepts, grammar rules, technical writing style, and punctuation.  In addition, it discusses how to write consistently and clearly.

 

Information Architecture and User/Task Analysis: Discusses techniques to organize information in a document.


Information Design: Discusses page design, typography, visual elements (tables, pictures, and so on), headings, white spaces, designing a page, and so on.
