Spelling competitions create an awareness of the necessity to spell and pronounce words correctly; it also develops enthusiasm amongst students to learn new words.
The objective is to enhance the spelling and literary skills of children by encouraging them to explore the English language, expand their vocabulary, and improve their communication and comprehension skills. This helps students to improve spelling skills, vocabulary, learning concepts, and pronunciations leading to correct usage of English words that will help in their early years of growth and development. The key thought was to engage students on a different competition route, thereby engaging them in the English language practice.
The live spelling competitions are exciting and entertaining and families and parents of students in the school team will be welcome to come and watch. With prizes for both the winning school team and their school.
This is the first spelling competition of its kind in India for School Children with a new approach that combines learning with fun and competition.
This competition starts at the school level simultaneously in all the cities throughout India. The competition progresses from the Screening level to the semi final, leading to the grand final.
LEVEL I – SCREENING (WRITTEN ROUND)
Comprises of 2 written rounds:
Round 1. Making of new words with meaning
Round 2. Form the correct word
Duration 30 minutes with 30 marks
LEVEL II – SEMI FINAL (ORAL ROUND)
The contest will be held separately for each participant. The Participant must spell aloud the words given to them from a predetermined list of spelling bee words. This round takes place on a miss- and- out basis, eliminating as they misspell a word from the 6th word onwards.
LEVEL III – GRAND FINALE
In Grand Finale, toppers selected from each group will participate in the oral and pronunciation key rounds
Oral round
The Participant must spell aloud the words given to them from a predetermined list of spelling bee words. This round takes place on a miss – and – out basis, eliminating as they misspell a word from the 5th word onwards. This is a time bound test.
Vocabulary Round
In vocabulary round participants will create new words & meanings using the same letters fro given words. This is a time bound test.
The ranking depends on the performance of the day only. Based on the total score of oral and pronunciation key, the winners are decided. The results will be announced on the same day.
HOW IT WORKS?
This competition is only for students studying in classes 1 to 6 and segregated into four categories:
TIMINGS
Category I & II – 9:30 AM – 12 :00 PM
Category III - 12:30 PM – 2: 30 PM
Category IV - 3:30 PM – 5: 00 PM

Moonbee National Spelling Bee engages students in a different competition route- testing their knowledge of spelling, thereby engaging them in the English Language practice to excel in academic and all-round development in their growing years.
Inspire many young minds to improve spelling skills, communication skills, vocabulary, learning concepts, pronunciation, and thereby leading to correct usage of English Language which is presently at risk.
Students learn, compete and develop their language skills to progress at their own pace needed for academic success.
