About The Event

 FORMAT

A timed Duathlon with an order Run-Cycle-Run. You can choose to compete as a Solo participant or in a Relay format of one runner and one cyclist.
 
DISTANCE IN THE ORDER OF EVENTS- 
  • 4.25 kms running on trail
  • 25 kms cycling on a mix of tar and dirt road. 
  • 8.5 kms running on trail
SOLO RACE 
  • Open Men
  • Open Women
  • Above 45 Men
  • Above 40 Women

NOTE: By default, participants of all age fall into OPEN category. If a participant from a senior age category holds a rank in OPEN, he / she will be entitled to a higher value prize. In this case, the position in the senior category will be awarded to the next in-line.

RELAY RACE 
  • A team of TWO only with a mix of any gender and / or age.
 FEES-

 

  • Solo Race - Rs. 800/- per participant. Late fee of Rs. 200/-applies after 21st May
  • Relay Race - Rs. 1550/- per team. Late fee of Rs. 400/- applies after 21st May
  • Transport to the race venue - Rs. 300/- (Self-transportation to the race venue and back will be provided only on the race day)
  • Cycle transport to the race venue - Rs. 300/- (Cycles will have to be handed over to us on Saturday evening at a location that will be declared later. The cost includes transportation of cycles back to Pune on the race day too.)
  • Cycle on rent with helmet- Rs. 600/
  • Stay at venue on Saturday - Rs. 400/- includes evening snacks, dinner, and dormitory stay with bed, blanket, and common toilet. (You must reach the venue on your own on Saturday noon.)

IMPORTANT TIMINGS
  • Bib collection - Saturday, 27th May (Venue TBD)
  • Solo Race Flag off - Sunday, 28th May at 6.15 am
  • Relay Race Flag off - Sunday, 28th May at 6:30 am
  • Self transport on the race day - at 4 am.
  • Self transport back to Pune on race day - at 12 pm from race venue
  • Cycle transport on race day back to Pune - at 12 pm from race venue
RULES FOR RACE / DISQUALIFICATION / PRIZES
  • Wearing helmet is mandatory during the entire cycling section. A participant caught without a helmet will be disqualified.
  • No Road bikes are allowed. Bike with tyres with dimensions lesser than 700*30 tyres will not be allowed in the race. 
  • Any participant caught by our volunteers taking short-cuts on the running route will be disqualified. 
  • All participants by default fall into OPEN category.
  • If a participant from the 40+ age category wins in OPEN category, he / she will be awarded the prize in OPEN category. In this case, that position in the 40+ category will become void
  • Top three athletes in all Solo category and top three teams in all Relay categories will be felicitated. 
  • The prize distribution ceremony will be held on the same day, same venue after the race. 
  • The number of ranks in each category will depend on the number of registered participants. Please note the following:
    • If a category has only upto 5 entrants, then only the top prize will be given.
    • If a category has more than 5 and upto 8 entrants, then the top two prizes will be given.
    • If a category has more than 8 entrants, then the top three prizes will be given.
  • NO CASH PRIZES. Prizes in kind only. 
  • Reporting at the venue after the flag off / late start, will loose your chance to be on the podium.

  • Please choose the event distance category carefully.
  • Confirmed registrations are non-refundable, non-transferable and cannot be modified.
  • Provide us with a secure email ID/mobile no that you can access regularly, since this will be our primary means of communication during the run up to the event.
  • We might be sending regular updates to the Mobile number you have provided in the registration form this should be not treated as spam and you shall not take any action against our bulk sms service provider.
  • Any notice sent to the email address registered with the organizers shall be deemed as received by the runners.
  • By registering to the event, you agree to receive any emails from the event supporters or sponsors. You are free to unsubscribe from these emails any time you want.
  • You are aware that running long distance running is an extreme sport and can be injurious to body and health. You take full responsibility for participating in the Phulgaon Duathlon - Edition 2 event  organized by Explore Adventures, Pune and do not hold the organizing committee or any of its members or entities responsible for any injury or accident.
  • You shall consult your physician and undergo complete medical examination to assess your suitability to participate in the event.
  • You also assume all risks associated with participating in this event including, but not limited to, falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including high heat or humidity, traffic and the condition of the road, arson or terrorist threats and all other risks associated with a public event.
  • You agree that Explore Adventures shall not be liable for any loss, damage, illness or injury that might occur as a result of your participation in the event.
  • You also agree to stop running if instructed by the Race director or the medical staff or by the aid station volunteers.
  • You confirm that your name and media recordings taken during your participation may be used to publicize the event.
  • You may acknowledge and agree that your personal information can be stored and used by Explore Adventures or any other company in connection with the organization, promotion and administration of the event and for the compilation of statistical information.
  • You confirm that, in the event of adverse weather conditions, major incidents or threats on the day, any of the force major or restriction by authority, the organizers reserve the right to stop/cancel/postpone the event or to change the course of the event. 
  • You understand that confirmed registrations and merchandise orders are non-refundable, non-transferable and cannot be modified.
  • The organizers reserve the right to reject any application without providing reasons. Any amount collected from rejected applications alone will be refunded in full (excluding bank charges wherever applicable)
  • Runners will not be allowed to stay on the course beyond the cut-off time considering the safety and health issues.
  • You understand that the duathlon may go through the roads in the city that may have vehicular traffic. Though, our volunteers will take care of managing the traffic, you are requested to watch and be careful of vehicular traffic. We request total co-operation from runners in this regards.
