Paul Gomra the hindi poet who belonged to the post independent India was the proof reader of a daily newspaper in the capital of India. If a middle class man like him has got a nice family and a job to secure his life what else can he expect from the life? The only problem he had was his irresistible mind which kept on pushed him to raise a voice against the so called economical and technological progress of India. He used to live in Ghaziabad which is 28 k.m. away from Delhi, bur he could not make it to Delhi till the end of his life. The aspiration to buy a scooter or change his name as Paul Gomra from Ramgopal Saksena are the solid instances of his effort to make his life comfortable with the contemporary society. Paul Gomra, the deranged poet of the highway, the specter that now haunts the roots and the routes of the Indian nation, is a kind of travel writer, an elegiac wanderer who mourns lives that have been lost.
