Position: Back-End Software Engineer:

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

You have a very strong, demonstrable, knowledge of Java (8) and Spring-Boot. You have the ability to give total focus to a problem, no matter how basic it sounds at first. You are enthusastic about creating software, have a drive to learn and expand your knowledge, and bring lots of motivation with you. You have an interest and some knowledge about all parts of the software engineering stack, including devops. You love to automate, whether it's processes or repetitive tasks.

SKILLS & BACKGROUND:

• Demonstrable experience of building software with Spring or Spring-Boot
• Rock-solid knowledge of Java (8)
• Demonstrable knowledge of shell ing and using basic unix tools

 NICE TO HAVES

• Hands-on experience with JUnit
• Hands-on experience with Mockito
• Basic knowledge of coding in Python
• Experience of working in a team of software developers

Session Agenda

• Overview of Spring-Boot and configuration
• Create a sample Spring-Boot application

Problem statement

Create an application that accesses Facebook data (users’s profile, friends information, etc) and builds a simple social network graph on the backend using the Neo4j database.

Pre-Requistes

• A laptop with linux or iOS installed
• Java 8 SDK installed
• Maven installed

Shradha Kampani

She has spent the last 15 years in various roles in banking & payment industry in Europe as a software engineer, software architect and then product manager of cash management & liquidity platform for Bank Of America Merrill Lynch. Her last role was head of Liquidity platform at BAML.
