Trek Details:
Kalavantin Durg, is situated just opposite to the Prabalgad Fort between Matheran and Panvel, Maharashtra from the sea level of approx 2300 ft. Kalavantin Pinnacle trek is divided into two patches, first is uphill terrain till Prabalmachi where the trek route is divided for Kalavantin durg and Prabalgad. The second patch for Kalavantin hike is vertiginous, as the rock cut steps are very steep and is the only way to climb the Kalavantin Pinnacle. There are no railings or support while ascending or descending the durg and thus makes it the hardest part of trek.
ITINERARY:
Departure: Saturday, 21st Jan 2017 at 3.00 PM
Arrival: Sunday, 22nd Jan 2017 at 8.00 PM
Trek Schedule:
Day 1:
3.00 pm: Depart from Pune
6.00 pm: Reach Thakurwadi (Base Village)
6.15 pm: Start Trek towards Kalavantin Durg
8.45 pm: Reach Prabalmachi
Followed by Dinner and rest for the day!
Day 2:
6.30 am: Wakeup Call!
6.45 am: Breakfast
7.30 am: Start ascend towards Kalavantin Pinnacle
10.30 am: Reach top
11.00 am: Start Descend
12.30 pm: Reach Prabalmachi and have Lunch
2.30 pm: Descend to Base Village
5.00 pm: Return to Base and start towards Pune
8.00 pm: Reach Pune
All timings are approx. Timings may vary by +/- 2 hours.
COST: Rs. 950/- per participant
