About The Event

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of The Department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry of the JSS Dental College & Hospital, it is our pleasure to welcome you to the CDE Program titled ‘Preventive & Esthetic Protocol in Paediatric Dentistry’ followed by a Workshop on Direct Composite Veneering. The objective of the program is to augment your existing knowledge and skills regarding aesthetic composite restorations and provide insights on its integrated and systematic approach.

With changing patient and guardian awareness, it is imperative for today’s dental practices to keep abreast with the latest advancements in the various treatment approaches. This program will provide you detailed knowledge on a scientific and systematic approach to aesthetic restorative practice in a pediatric dental setting. This clinical meet is designed two pronged manner and aims to provide both practical and theoretical knowledge on the subject. The complete program will comprise of hands-on clinical workshop training, followed by talks covering topics on dental trauma and pit & fissure sealants delivered by reputed and senior academicians.

The Department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry of the JSS Dental College & Hospital will look forward to your kind participation in this program. Registration details are explained in a dedicated section on page 4 of this brochure.

Workshop details (Workshop will be held after the Lunch):

Title: Direct composite Veneers

Learning objectives:

1)      Create most esthetic and natural direct composite restorations.

2)      Understand adhesives and bonding protocols.

3)      Understand importance of color mapping.

4)      Use the mock up and wax up techniques in more complex situations.

5)      Receive more predictable esthetic results with natural layering concept.

6)      Master the application of composites in class  IV, direct veneers as well as many other indications including direct posterior composites

7)      Learn how to achieve adequate luster and gloss for your restorations.

Demonstration & hands on: Direct composite veneers on a single central incisor

Participants are requested to mount 4 anterior teeth (preferable 2 centrals and 2 lateral incisors) with preparation to receive veneer done on a single central incisor)

 

Panelists:

Dr. Deepak Mehta

Dr. Deepak Mehta is the scientific director of PACE. He holds a certificate in Aesthetic Dentist from Suny Buffalo University, New York. Additionally, he was the recipient of the best Post-Graduate Award from the Indian Endodontics Society in 2005. Dr. Mehta has been appointed as a smile care expert for Ponds-Femina Miss India 2013. He has numerous articles and chapters on direct and indirect bonding techniques in various national and international journals. He lectures extensively in India and abroad.

Dr. B. Nandlal:

Dr. Nandlal is the Principal of JSSDCH and has been a senior academician in paediatric dentistry for more than 25 years. He was president of ISPPD Society for the year 2012-13 and has been awarded the fellow of ISPPD for his contributions to research in dentistry and for his services rendered to the field of Paediatric dentistry. He has more than 50 publications in national and international journals.

Dr. Jyothsna .V. Setty

Dr. Jyothsna hold an MDS in Pedodontics from CODS, Davangere and was awarded the best Post-Graduate student during her graduating year in 2002. Additionally, she is the recipient of a gold medal in Applied Nutrition and Dietics in 2004. She has various publications to her credit. She is currently Professor, Dept. of Pedodontics,  Ambedkar Dental College, Bangalore
