About The Event

Introduction:

“The thin invisible line between the Urban and Rural Society is ‘life’!!! With the aim of conducting innovative research in different areas of management and pitching for greater use of research for creating a sustainable RUBAN society, Dayananda Sagar Business Academy Bangalore (DSBA) announces its International Conference on "Challenges and Opportunities for Developing Sustainable RUBAN Society" The conference gives a platform to corporates, academia and researchers to put forth their initiatives, ideas and experiences for a better tomorrow.

About the Conference Theme The heart and soul of any country lies in the village and the future is purely based on how you empower the rural parts of the country. Being the most modern business school under prestigious Dayananda Sagar Institutions (DSI), Dayananda Sagar Business Academy has taken the first of its kind initiative to call the intellects, management experts and corporate visionaries to share their thoughts and views in developing sustainable RUBAN societies.

‘Rubanisation’ as the word suggests, is a way forward for both urban and rural development focusing on co-existence and consider the differences in how they reflect the needs and aspirations of people in different areas. In almost all the developing nations, the locus of development is on cities and rural parts are depleted and avoided. Creation of sustainable Ruban habitat blends and carries forward ideas of PURA (Provision of Urban amenities in Rural Areas) as envisaged by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, former President of India and Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of Gram Swaraj. Considering the aspirations of the population in developing nations like ours, ruban societies will be a necessity of the future. Hence, developing them in a planned manner will be beneficial for all stake holders. This can happen through strategic planning in resource allocation and utilization, technological interventions and people skill enhancements. The conference focuses on these domains, where it is expected to draw a quantum of research inputs in order to take a big leap in creating sustainable Ruban Societies.
