Funk, French House and Cosmic Disco
Tuesday, 22 Oct. 2013, 8.30 pm,
at High Spirits Café, North Main Road, Koregaon Park, Pune
Presented by Alliance Française

L’Impératrice (The Empress) is beautiful and cruel.
Maybe not even real, a Venus with graceful movements,whose haughty look recalls the burning heat of summer. She rules the groove and the hearts, and you will bow to her desire.
The first opus will sound like a revelation, meteor dodging between funk, 90’ french house and hiphop.
Her references to the joyful sound of our childhood and her melancholy journeys away from the earth;
And the bass is more powerful than the Death Star, a bright sound, a ray that pierces the vastness of our suspicious minds.
Don’t be scared, join the Empire.
About the band:
Impératrice is a musical incarnation of the French electronic music scene of the 90s : daft punk, air, justice etc... mixed with funk/disco/cosmic of the 70s and the 80s. Melodious and immensely danceable, the musicians use nothing electronic but only analogue, especially with the keyboards.
Their second EP is being recorded, which will sound more electronic and will have more energy than the first.
The band is composed of 5 young musicians:
- Charles de Boisseguin on synths
- Hagni Gwon on synths
- Martin Neumann on guitar
- David Gaugué on bass
- Antoine Bigot on drum machine
