G-Quasar is like a dazzling and scintillating star that with its radiance and gloss enlighten people leaving them with a spark of Trust, Celebrations, Faith, Pride and Hardwork.

 

"MARCH MADNESS" is here and so is G-QUASAR 2013. Beware the ideas of March, for this year, G-QUASAR pledges to take culture and art, creativity and innovation, glamour and excitement beyond the regular. We enter a trance so deep and so strong that you never recover and are lost in paradise. The process is underway, zenith is awaited, but the spark that shall ignite the fire is here.

Go insane! Go crazy! Go wild! Because G-QUASAR 2013 is on its way to capture your mind, body, heart and soul. 

Started in 2011, G-QUASAR has emerged as a leading college festival in NCR region, setting trends and standing on its principles giving birth to shining stars to spread their warmth and sparkle by offering a rich blend of 'thumris' and 'alaaps'. It aims at the synergy of best minds and gives a chance to young guns to break new ground on the cultural scene. 

The world of imagination and hard work, a place where individuals unite in order to keep their word for success, where fun and enthusiasm are the innate gases in the air, and where success is never questioned! G-Quasar is a complete platform for showbiz, delight, hard work, resourcefulness, passion, pride, name and fame, success and glory.

Quasar is a kind of galaxy that radiates energy and illumines the universe with the spark of its glare and allure, so are we Galgotians, who, with our flair and astuteness, lighten the atmosphere and spread bliss and ecstasy all over.

Thus, GALGOTIAS UNIFEST G-QUASAR is a whole new plethora of delight and rejoices. A two day treat for all which is no less than gleam and sparkle of the feel of bash and glamour, the grandeur and avidness, leaving one into the trance of extravagance and eminence. G-Quasar is the galaxy with intense gravity to pull one and all, leaving one enticed with its luster and shine of endowment, competition and fun. With the perfect amalgamation of Music, Dance, Fashion, Dramas, Amusing actions, and the Celebrity performances, G-Quasar is a perfect destination to rejuvenation of one's mind, body and soul. 

 

Featured JAZBA The Eastern Band Competition it is a group event
Jazba, the eastern band competition in G-quasar � 13 is one of the most frenetic events enjoyed in G-quasar. The musomaniacs � Love For Music. In the one day event we celebrate the music splendor of the east ,  we give bands a chance to show their musical prowess. Be it covers or improvisations of eastern songs, or old and pure madrigals; else grooving to Rehman , Shafaqat and the like.  This spark of passion is what Jazba exemplifies. The multichromaticity in improvising music.
1. All bands has to upload a 4 minute video on www.youtube.com consisting of a cover or an original composition, clearly showing all the members of the band. And send their respective links by the register option given on the official G-Quasar Website.
2. Shortlisted bands will be informed on email / or via their respective phone numbers.
3. Bands should be necessarily from a college/institute/school.
4. Any band using offensive/obscene lyrics/gestures would be directly disqualified.
5. Amplifiers and sound system will be switched off after 15 minutes.
6. Bands are expected to carry their own equipment. A 5 piece drum kit will be provided. DOUBLE BASS PEDAL WILL NOT BE PROVIDED.
7. At most 6 members are allowed in a band.
3 Main Stage 4:00 PM Day 1
Dance BEAT-ALONE Dream, Desire and Dare to Stand Alone STUDIO-D, Galgotias dance club presents SOLO DANCE COMPETITION where gender and dance form don\'t count. What matter is TALENT. ROUND 1- Prelims
1. A solo performance round where each participant will perform on a part of their main track. Time Limit- 90 sec
2. Marking on the basis of Choreography and expressions
3. No marks for costume
4. A total of 12 participants will qualify for the next round

ROUND 2- Jugalbandi:
� A platform where participants come face to face with each other competing and demonstrating their talent.
� Sound Track will be provided on spot and participants will be provided with some time to prepare.
� All participants are requested to bring their own multimedia devices to take the sound track and prepare.
� 6 participants will qualify for the final round.

ROUND 3- Finals:
� The main event in which only 6 participants will qualify to dazzle everyone with the enigma of their dance.

Literary R. J. HUNT Think you\\\'re a good speaker, can your voice modulations and merely your words move one? Here\\\'s your platform then! Come and prove yourself and know where you stand!! And take the title \\\"R. J. Of The Future\\\"!! 1. Single person event.
2. INR 50 per participant.
3. In the first round, participants will be grouped in teams of 2. They together as teams will compete with other teams. 10 minutes will be given to each team.
4. In the second round, selected R. J.(s) from the first round will compete individually. 15 minutes will be given to every finalist.
5. Topic for the event will be disclosed 2 hours before the event. Script must include a song as well.
6. It is a two-day event with one round every day.
7. Prizes to the winner, first-runner up and the second runner up.
8. Prize Money- INR 1000, INR 750 and INR 500  for the winner, first runner-up and second runner-up respectively.*

This is what defines our fashion show *SCINTILLATIONS*.
It is something that is in the air, and continues to grow with the time. An urge to look smart, a style that is impossible to over look.
You make your first impression by the way you dress, and then how your address your self.
So to reach the new horizons of fashion, and to release the all new hues of style-statements, we are back with the most glamorous and happening show to turn g-quasar\\\\\\\'13 into a sparkling event like never before.

*SCINTILLATIONS* provides a platform for the young talent to display their skills and to discover their true potential over here. Hold your breaths for a hefty fashion bonanza, coming up this march\\\\\\\'13 at Galgotias Unifest G-Quasar 2013.
PRELIMS:
. The preliminry round will be held on 8th of march from 2pm onwards
. This is a closed event and will be held infront of judgesonly.
. The time alloted for each team is 6 mins.

Featured CONTREDANSE United We Stand It is a Group Event
The most desired and awaited event of G-QUASAR, CONTREDANSE- the group dance, is ready to blow the canons. Light up spark and dazzle the world by the brilliance of your dance.
1. Maximum no. of participants in a team- 20
2. Minimum no. of participants in a team- 6
3. No more than 12 participants should be on stage at a time
4. All teams are requested to bring their own AUDIO CD for prelims and final round
Round 1- Prelims:
1. Compete with other groups on a part of your main track. Time limit-3 min
2. Marking on the basis of choreography, coordination and expressions
3. No marks for costume
4. Top six dance groups will qualify for the final round
Round 2- Finals:
1. The battle begins. The biggest event of the day. Six groups, one stage.

Literary EPODES OF HORACE Have your words got the harmony? Let\'s see what you\'ve got. We give you a crux and now it is your turn to concord your words to our keynote. 1. Single person event.

4. Participants will be given 2 hours to prepare and present their work. Topics will be given on the spot.
5. Prizes to the winner, first-runner up and the second runner up.

Literary BLOCK AND TACKLE Let us see how much the trigger of the buzzer affects you! How strong are you at your words and mind! Every time the buzzer rings, you must not be what you were. Well yes, that is what will really keep you up!! 1. Individual event.
2. INR 30 per person.
3. Topic will be given on the spot. (Extempore)
4. The speaker can choose to speak either in favor or against the topic. When the buzzer will ring once, the speaker has to start speaking against of what he was upto. If the buzzer will ring twice, the speaker will have to keep a balance in his words, neither favoring nor opposing the topic.
5. Prizes for the winner and the runners-up.

Literary KINGDOM OF THE MUMS Just remain tongue-tied and express whatever you\'ve been asked to. Mind it, gestures only!!
This one is for you Literature fans!!
1. Team Game consisting of not more than 3 participants.

3. Event consists of two rounds.
4. It will be a Literary Dumb Charades where teams will be asked to enact or depict through pictures (drawings) literary questions which will be asked instead of movies.
5. Prizes for the winning team and the runners-up team.

Literary FAST AND VIVID We give you a minute to ruminate and another minute to bring up everything you can. Maximum accuracy and flawless you makes you an achiever. 1. Individual event.

3. Participant has to speak on the given topic for a minute. One minute after the release of the topic will be provided to the speaker to think.
4. Topics will be provided on the spot.
5. Prizes to the winner, first runner-up and the second runner-up.

Literary GLANCE AT THE FUTURE How deeply can you think? What facts do you collect? How creative can you write? How well can you present your views!? How much good are you at speaking? You have the theme; all you have to do is to pen down what you have got, say what you think and convince about what you think is right!!
1. Individual event.
2. INR 50 per person.
3. Entries describing the topic \\\"Glance at the Future\\\" in around 500 words will be collected in the first round. These will be short-listed based on the content. Write-ups will be entertained only by March 5, 2013.
4. The second round will be GROUP DISCUSSION in which short-listed participants will have to present their views on the topic provided keeping FUTURE in mind (Topic will be given on the spot).
5. Best speakers will be selected based on their facts and their ways of expressing their thoughts.
6. In the third round, finalists will be shown some pictures using which they have to make a story which must relate with the FUTURE. The best story will win the prize.
7. Prizes of 1200INR and 700INR to the winner and the runner-up respectively.*

Music X-FACTOR Strike the audience by with skills of your instrument or mesmerize them with your voice or beat everyone by opera, rap or beatbox. X factor has got all for you.

12 Main Stage 10:00 AM Day 3
Drama HASYAVADAN stand up comedy / mono acting A means to individually show your acting skills, \'Chauraha\'- the dramatics club of Galgotias, brings \'Hasyavadan\'- a mixture of both stand-up comedy and mono-acting. The whole stage is yours to flaunt your talent. Either you perform as a single person or become multiple characters, its your pick. Captivate your audience with the act. The expressions and the dialogues that you deliver will be your main tools in the act. Put all the ingredients of dramatics together and depict a story that can either be amusing or intense.
10 performances that will take 2 hours+ 30 minutes setting time.
It is an individual event comprising of acts performed with proper    gestures and voice modulation.
1. Any of the two languages Hindi or English can be used freely by the participants.
2. 5 minutes performance and exceeding the time limit will be penalized.
3. Props and musical instruments are not allowed.
4. For the mono-acting show mimicry is not allowed.

Drama NATYA stage play / theatre play \'Chaurahaa\'- the dramatics club of Galgotias, brings to you \'Natya\'- the stage play, a theatrical entertainment. Its an opportunity to let your imaginations run wild and come up with some good scripts and exciting ways to depict them through your acting, make-up, props, lights and music. For the actors, directors and the writers out there its time for them to come together and put forth a creation like that has been never seen before. Whether you want to get into serious acting or make everybody laugh, its your call. So come forward and participate to show an exceptional play. 5-6 acts that will require 2 hours + 30 minutes setting time. Maximum 20members team is allowed Time : 25 minutes + 5 minutes (allowed) The teams are allowed to take any topic at their own discretion. A synopsis of not more than 400 words has to be mailed at the  email id : chauraha.gquasar@gmail.com before 27th Feburary to confirm your presence at the event. 1. The play should not be mimicry of any person or event.

Featured NUKKAD NATAK street play it is a group event

\'Chaurahaa\' - the dramatics club of Galgotias, presents \'Nukkad\'- the street play, a way to get your voice to the common people. Be a part of the oldest theater in existence. Let us see how much crowd you can gather by the means of simple and loud performances. A traditional way to convey an enlightening message to the general masses, it can be highly entertaining as well. Connecting to the public around is the biggest challenge one has to face in a street play. With the use of minimum resources, you have to create something that is educative as well as captivating at the same time.
 
6 acts that will take place through out the day at discreet time
Minimum 7 and maximum 18 members are allowed in the team
Time : 25 minutes + 5 minutes(allowed)

The teams are allowed to take any topic at their own discretion.

Drama PARODY MAKING aisi ki taisi \\\'Aisi Ki Taisi\\\' is a parody making competition brought to you by \\\'Chauraha\\\'- the dramatics club of Galgotias. Parody is an imitative work created to mock, comment on, or trivialize an original work, its subject, author, style, or some other target, by means of humorous, satiric or ironic imitation. Its a chance for you to show us your creativity by blending-up two movies and creating something entirely new out of it without actually referring to the names, the scenes or the dialogues of the movies given. Your innovation is what most importantly counts in parody making. 2 sets of movies shall be given to the participating teams according to the randomly generated codes selected by them. The teams shall be informed about the movies 24 hrs before the event has to take place.
6 members per team are allowed in the minimum.
Time : 5 mins for pre and 15 mins for the finals
16 NB Informal Stage 12:30 PM Day 3
Drama AD-MAD   �Ad-Mad is a unique event for you to take part in presented by �Chauraha�- the dramatics club of Galgotias.  Teams have to prepare add or commercial by which they can promote their product amongst people and will be judged by the� Panel of judges. It tests your acting prowess as well as your expression skills. Your cleverness plays a major part as well as it will be required. A purely amusing event, it will leave you laughing for a long time. Maximum 8 members per team are allowed.
The teams shall be given situations on which they shall enact and set up scene of the ad mad.

Time : maximum10 minutes per team.

Photography PRATIBIMB : THE MOMENT PHOTOGRAPHY Click to give us the best picture of G-Quasar, ’13. There will be two different themes each day. The participant has to submit 1 photograph each for any one or both of the given themes. 1.‘Pratibimb’ is an individual event.
2.Size of the pictures should not be less than 1280*960 pixels, this is close to 2.0 megapixels (for digital photographs)
3.Photographs must be taken inside the campus and during G-Quasar, ’13.
4.Participants are required to bring their own cameras. No cameras will be provided by the organizers.
5.No editing (using any kind of software) is allowed.
6.The photograph must be the original work of the participant.

Photography DIGITAL ART : POSTER MAKING Poster design is a true art form. Often the best posters will be bold, eye catching and visually intense, yet minimal and elegant at the same time. 1.This is an individual event.
2.Participants will have to create a poster which must be only on one of the following themes:
Corruption
Year 2100
Indian Cultural Diversity
Women rights
Aids
3.The size of the final poster should be A3.
4.Participants are allowed to use external fonts.
5.Participants are allowed to use images from external sources.
6.You are not allowed to use any external filter or brushes or any other such thing. But you can use the existing fonts, filter or brushes existing there in the software you are using.
7.The participants should submit the raw file + the jpeg/png file of the poster + the fonts used in it, failing which will lead to the cancellation of the entry.
8.Judging to be based on creativity.

Photography STOP MOTION PHOTOGRAPHY Stop motion is a technique to make a physically manipulated object appear to move on its own. The object is moved in small increments between individually photographed frames, creating the illusion of movement when the series of frames is played as a continuous sequence.
Pick any theme from the following given themes and make a movie using stop motion photography.
Mix that with your creativity to portray any story by capturing every motion in it.
1.This is an individual as well as team event.
2.The motion picture should be based on only one of the following  themes:
  Old Age
  Child-Parent Relationship
  Nature
  Daily Routine Story
3.Only one entry per team/individual is allowed.
4.Length of the clip should be between 60 to 120 seconds.
5.Size of the frame: No Bar
6.Participants are allowed to add special effects.
7.The video should be submitted in any of the given formats only: 3GP, WMV, MP4, or AVI.
8.Any kind of cameras can be used, including mobile phones. 9.No cameras or computers will be provided to the participant/team.
10.The video must be submitted along with the pictures constituting the video for the sake of authenticity.
11.Video to be judged according to the story and the way it is portrayed.
12.A brief writing about the video will be appreciated.

match is replayed.
· If one round was won before the interruption, the game
interrupted is replayed with the remaining round to play.
The round scored of the interrupted game will be added to
the final score of the new game

Technical AQUA POLO MEET “build manually controlled wired or wireless robots which can navigate on water. make them aggressive, dangerous and claim your victory by immobilizing the other one and win exciting prizes.â€Â INTRODUCTION-The history of water polo as a team sport began as a demonstration of strength and swimming skill in late 19th century.
Here\'s your chance to relive the memories of playing this elegant and stressful game at G-QUASAR Tech-fest, the only difference being that it will be your machine which will get wet to do the job.

Problem Statement-The task is to build a manually controlled wired or wireless robot which can navigate on water and be able to compete with a fellow robot and score a goal by placing a ball in the defined Goal.
Rules: -
 
1) Each team can have a maximum of 4 participants.
2) A team may consist of students from different colleges.
3) Certificates of excellence will be awarded to the top three teams
4) The organizers reserve the right to change the rules as they deem fit.
5) Judges decision will be final and binding to all.
6) When a team is called for match, they must report within ten minutes. Otherwise, the other team would be declared winner. Before the start of the event, the robot should fit inside a box of dimensions 60cm x 60cm x 30 cm for an arena 220X200inches.
4) If robot has wired control, the wires should always remain slack.
5) In case of using electric energy for propulsion and drive, the potential difference between any two points of the machine should not exceed 24 Volts, at any time.
7) The teams must adhere to the spirit of healthy competition. The teams must not damage the opponent\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s machine in any way. Judges reserve the right to disqualify any team indulging in misbehaviour.
8) Any team that is not ready at the time specified will be disqualified from the competition automatically.
9) The machine would be checked for its safety before the race and would be discarded if found unsafe for other teams and spectators.


BOT SPECIFICATION
1. The robot should be mechanically controlled.
2. The robot must fit within a box of 250 mm x 250 mm x 300 mm (l x b x h) throughout the event.
3. The robot should not weigh more than 3 kg.
4. The robot should, in no way, cause any damage to the arena. Any kind of damage will lead to immediate disqualification.
5. Each team has to bring its own power supply for its robot.
6. The Voltage difference between any two points on any of the robot must not exceed 24 V DC.
7. Before the start of the event, the robot should fit inside a box of dimensions 60cm x 60cm x 30 cm for an arena 220X200inches.
8) If robot has wired control, the wires should always remain slack.

GAME PLAY:
1) Arena will again have check points and 50 points will be given for crossing the check point.

The task of the event is to design and build a mechanically or autonomous robot that is capable of following the line. Relocate blocks & make your way around the sharp turns.
General rules:
Each team can have a maximum of 4 participants.
2. A team may consist of students from different colleges.
3. Certificates of Excellence will be awarded to the top two teams.
4. The organizers reserve the right to change the rules as they deem fit.
5. Judges decision will be final and binding to all.
6. When a team is called for match, they must report within five minutes. Otherwise, the other team would be declared winner.
7. If robot has wired control, the wires should always remain slack.
8. The teams must adhere to the spirit of healthy competition. The teams must not damage the opponent machine in any way. Judges reserve the right to disqualify any team indulging in misbehavior.
9. The machine would be checked for its safety before the race and would be discarded if found unsafe for other Teams and spectators.

Event structure:

The teams would be divided into pools; each team will have group stage matches.
The top teams from the pools would then enter the round of QUARTERFINALS. The criteria for selecting top teams from the pools would be the total of points scored in all the group stage matches.
The best four teams amongst all pools will play SEMIFINALS.
The winners will play the GRAND FINALE.

Bot specification:
1. The robot should be autonomous or mechanically controlled.
2. The robot must fit within a box of 250 mm x 250 mm x 300 mm (l x b x h) throughout the          
     event.
3. The robot should not weigh more than 3 kg.
4. The robot should, in no way, cause any damage to the arena. Any kind of damage will lead to immediate disqualification.
5. Each team has to bring its own power supply for its robot.
6. The Voltage difference between any two points on any of the robot must not exceed 24 V DC.
7. There would be three colors of boxes (RED, GREEN, YELLOW for autonomous), all teams would have to be prepared to identify its bot using ANY of the two boxes.
Game play:
The Objective of the event is to align the different colored boxes on pattern drawn at the center. (For example “Xâ€Â in the above figure).The bots must be capable to push around the boxes (not lift) and then align them precisely on the desired pattern.
The scoring will be done on the basis of the time taken by each team in completing the alignment successfully.
Kindly design the bots accordingly. Lifting of boxes and placing will lead to disqualification. The more precise the controls of your bot are the more your chances of getting it done quickly.
Round-1
1. A maximum of 10 minutes would be given in the first round.
2. There would be no obstacle in this round.
3. Qualification rules are given on the spot.
Round-2
1. A maximum of 10 minutes would be given in the second round.

If 3 or more players have massive lags, delay or spikes (at any point in
the game), the game must be paused, saved and rehosted, if there is another
host available. All the players cannot be from the same team. People must
lag from Sentinel and Scourge.

Backdooring: You are not allowed to attack any tower on the map without
creep support. You have to enter the base with creeps but they don’t have
to be in the same line as you. As soon as creeps enter the base, the
complete base is allowed to be destroyed.

Fastest and best.
Round 1
A classic debug challenge to be completed by the contestants. A set of codes that are significantly filled with bugs/errors that need to be corrected within the given time period. The top scores of this round move to the next round.
Round 2
The short-listed players need to compile the given program, which would consist of errors in it, on the spot in a specified time period. The one with the best logic and fastest hands on the keyboard gets to be crowned the King of Code.

THE RACE

 The 20th Annual Great Moon-buggy Race will be held April 25-27, 2013 in Huntsville Alabama, at the U.S Space & Rocket Center.
 Team members will be required to address a series of engineering problems that are similar to problems faced by the old Moon-buggy team.
 Each Moon-buggy will be a human powered, all-terrain vehicle and will be driven by two students, one female and one male, over a half-mile simulated lunar terrain course including \"craters\", rocks, \"lava\" ridges, inclines and \"lunar\" soil.
 The vehicle must be collapsible to fit inside a cube of size four feet, and in this state must be carried by the drivers up to a distance of twenty feet.

Moonbuggy Rules and Penalties

A team of six members are given the task to design and fabricate a two seater, human powered vehicle that will be used to traverse an obstacle course of half a mile, simulated in the image of the lunar surface. The vehicle must be collapsible to fit inside a cube of size four feet, and in this state must be carried by the drivers up to a distance of two hundred feet. The vehicle is supposed to be driven by a male and a female candidate.


Team Requirements

Each moonbuggy must be the work of a student team of a high school, or an accredited institution of higher learning.
The school or institution may enter up to two (2) teams. A group of high schools may also work in collaboration toward building a moonbuggy entry.
An education-promoting entity, such as a museum, science center, planetarium, or private company may also enter up to two moonbuggy teams in each division. International country and team limitations apply.
High school teams are considered those teams predominantly comprised of students under age 19.
College/University teams are considered those predominantly comprised of students age 19 and over.
Each team, regardless of division, must be accompanied by an adult age 21 or over to serve as mentor and/or advisor.
