About The Event

Don't worry if you have not attended any of our previous meetups. You will still be good to join this one! Beginners and new comers with no dance experience are welcome as well. We will begin with basics so everyone can have fun!

If you have wanted to learn Salsa, Merengue might be the one to try before because it is easier than Salsa! If you can walk, you can Merengue. Salsa actually includes the Merengue pattern of dancing! So all latin dance lovers should come for Merengue !

Schedule of this session is as follows:

7.00 pm to 9.00 pm
1) Basics of Merengue (posture, weight transfer, balancing etc.)
2) Styling in Merengue
3)Various spins in Merengue
4) Funky moves in Merengue
5) Dips
6) Progression of Merengue to Salsa

9.00 pm to 10.00 pm
Social dancing with all different partners (exploring all steps that you learned during the class)

We will always rotate partners during the workshop and the dance, so everyone has an opportunity to dance with others. Feel free to shoot me a message or an email if you have any questions :)
Let's do this !!

---------------------------------------------------------------

1) What to wear?
Ans: Comfortable clothing. Do not wear extremely tight or extremely loose clothing.

2) Do I need to bring separate shoes for dancing?
Ans: As a general rule of thumb, dancers all over the world carry a separate pair of dance shoes which they wear on the dance floor. For this session, girls can wear dance shoes that have high heels and have slick/smooth soles which can let them spin easily. Guys may wear shoes with flat bottoms or tiny heels, but slick/smooth soles. Please do not wear sneakers or shoes/sandals with rubber soles. You do not need to buy new shoes for the 1st session, just bring the best you can. But as an etiquette do not use outdoor shoes on the dance floor(this avoids rain and dirt on the dance floor and accidental slips and falls)
