About The Event

FINSEC 2014:

The Second Financial Sector Conclave (FINSEC) 2014, is gearing up to take place in Hyderabad on July 14 and 15, 2014. Organized by FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry)Hyderabad, in association with the FAPCCI and the Andhra Chamber of Commerce, to discuss the emerging trends in the financial sector and the paradigm shifts over the years. FINSEC 2014 would be an ideal congregation of the professionals in banking and financial sector to brainstorm and network with their peers.

The Indian banking system continued to remain more or less robust even during the recent economic slowdown and took a beating although the hangover of the global crisis hovers. The aftermath of the recession and economic slowdown, has affected the , growth rates in the recent past have shown significant decline, more on account of high interest rates and soaring inflation.

For the Indian economy to stabilise and get back to the process of development, the growth rate need to be restored to the earlier figures of 8 percent per annum in the banking and financial sectors would have to grow at a minimum pace of twice the growth rate of the GDP.

While the sector seems to revitalise its growth by taking advantage of the small positive developments of economic activity, it is also equally imperative for the financial sector to grow on par with the emerging needs of corporate India. Financial institutions are now expanding their operations to spread beyond the traditional metropolitan cities as the industry has been experiencing a boom.

The FINSEC 2014 is an attempt to address the nuances of specific sectors in South India and the emerging trends prevailing and contributing to the development of these regions as compared to their northern counterparts.

The Conclave will deliberate on the recent paradigm shifts that have taken place in the financial sector in South India. FINSEC 2014 would also provide an opportunity to explore and understand the best practices that have worked in South India that may be replicated in other parts of the country. It is also an opportunity for the States to learn of best practices from other parts of the country.

The event would bring together corporate India and bankers and others from the financial sector community from the South to deliberate on how to work together and in tandem to bring about a more streamlined and inclusive path to development that will help India once again achieve an 8 per cent growth rate.
