Enterprise Architecture – Concepts to Implementation

Learn EA concepts to Implementations with Simulation “Framing the Future”

Simulation Description:

It is essential for organizations to react quickly and flexibly to changing customer needs and environments. Enterprise Architecture (EA) is a powerful tool for gaining insight into the current and required situations of organizations. What are the pros and cons of Enterprise Architecture? And how does Enterprise Architecture fit in our administrative and operational processes? Experience the principles of Enterprise Architecture in this stimulating business simulation ...

Scenario:

.... three organizations decided to merge and formulate their common strategic objectives for the future.

But the road to success is not so easy ... "How do we keep the grip on the organization?"

Game-flow

The simulation follows a solid instructional design approach to achieve results. There is a planning phase (what is the plan), and execution phase (building and deploying), followed by a reflection phase (what happened). During the reflection phase reference is made to Project management principles and theory, and these are connected to real life situations of the organization the participants are working for.

Audience:

Framing the Future is a business simulation for the 'clients' of Enterprise Architecture (the business, the project organization) and architects.

Learning Objectives:

  • Framing the Future challenges the participants to enter into a dialog together on Enterprise Architecture in relation to the organizational strategy.
  • Framing the Future helps to explain the relevance of Enterprise Architecture to the parties involved at various levels
  • Framing the Future helps participants understand the various methods and applications of Enterprise Architecture and allows them to experiment.
  • Framing the Future shows the relationship between organizational targets and architecture principles

Generic Benefits of Simulations:

You are emerged in a real life simulated environment. You will have to apply and adopt the theory to succeed in the business simulation. The power behind the simulation comes from gamification: game thinking and game mechanics are used in a non-game context to solving problems. This fun, experiential and effective delivery method ensures that new learning ‘sticks’. Mistakes can be made and you will learn from the simulation, your peers and the instructor (game leader).

Benefits of Taking This Simulation:

  • The participant is familiar with the various principles of Enterprise Architecture and understands how they are related (Knowledge)
  • The participant is capable of recognizing roles, targets and responsibilities, and can take action accordingly (Process-based working)
  • The candidate appreciates collaboration and is able to adapt at times in order to be more effective and efficient as a team (Cooperation)

The participant understands that his or her work is oriented towards the creation of value for customers (Customer-oriented working)
