Ekta Rani's India Tour Opening Party

This Saturday, DelSlam brings to you the most exciting poets party that you have been to! Here is your chance to personally meet the one and only Ekta Rani as she kicks off an amazing India tour with feature spoken word performances at universities and stages across the country in Bangalore, Kolkata and Chennai.

Ekta Rani will perform a feature slam poetry set from her collection at the show. Talk about your poetry to her and get insights into your own art and find out what it’s like to be a touring poet.

With a string of fun activities such as a cinepoetry movie screening and a book swap, there is no better way to end your week than this.

About Ekta Rani

Ekta Rani is a celebrated performance poet, writer and activist from Sydney, Australia. She writes and slams about racism, oppression and being queer among other things. Her loves of travel, martial arts and music inspire her work as does meeting, teaching and learning from fellow poets.

Currently, Ekta is the Resident Poet at DelSlam and leads slam poetry courses for young slam enthusiasts at Korean Cultural Centre.

DelSlam is screening the latest spoken word films from across the world at Korean Cultural Centre India including:

1. Andrea Gibson “Letter to My Dog, Exploring the Human Condition.”

2. JustJamaal The Poet “Husniyah”

3. Suli Breaks “Why I Hate School but Love Education.”

4. Jesse Parent “To The Boys Who May One Day Date My Daughter.”

More surprise films will be screened for you to catch live!

DelSlam also brings to you an old-school barter book swap for poetry anthologies. Bring a couple of poetry books to giveaway and take back some new reads to devour at home.

Get to meet some amazing and talented poets from around the capital and make new friendships at this one of a kind party hosted by your very own DelSlam.
