As you are aware, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry established in 1927, FICCI is the largest and oldest apex business organization in India. Its history is closely interwoven with India's struggle for independence, its industrialization, and its emergence as one of the most rapidly growing global economies.
FICCI, the representative body of Corporate India, articulates the genuine, legitimate needs and interests of the nation. In an open economy framework, the strategy for development is generally focused on world class manufacturing growth through the optimal utilization of the country’s comparative advantage vis-à-vis the rest of the world. However, the manufacturing world’s quest is to connect its full value chain and to integrate man and machine.
Indian Manufacturing adopted different management systems with the help of Japanese experts and gained substantially on the preservation of resources and revenue gain. In India many other companies tried to follow such practices in their operations but the spirit dried out due to poor motivation from the top and insufficient training to the staff members. It is very important to note that such powerful methodologies are C.E.O. DRIVEN. We learnt this lesson from our Japanese consultants. Under the heading of WCM i.e. world class manufacturing other methodologies/tools which are in practice are six sigma and Lean six sigma which addresses the waste management besides quality assurance. DMAIC is a part of it and this deals very elaborately the steps of Define, measurement, analyze, improve and control. The core idea is to maximize customer value while minimizing waste. Simply, lean means creating more value for customers with fewer resources.
Keeping in view of the development of Manufacturing companies in the country and to encourage methodologies to the entrepreneurs, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) is organizing aConference Cum Exhibition titled ‘World Class Manufacturing’ – 2017, scheduled on 30th June at Hotel Green Park, Hyderabad followed by Lunch.
Points identified for discussion: Lean practices for achieving operational excellence / Logistics fit for industry 4.0 – solutions of today shaping the global and industry logistics / Efficient Maintenance with Team Strategy / Value Stream Mapping / How is industry 4.0 linked to the lean production system? , etc.
The objective of the conference is to acquaint the knowledge and process involved in latest methods of organization processes based on the principles of lean manufacturing. The conference brings together expert’s speakers from different companies, by presenting examples of good practice in various areas of corporate activity - production, logistics, quality, maintenance, supply chain, organization and HR and so on.
