As a positive influence, stress can challenge us to action. As a negative influence, it leads to distorted thinking and can create distress and lead to health problems. Cognitive therapy (popularly known as CBT) by Aaron Beck is another widely practiced form of therapy that focuses on client’s distorted thinking and helps them correct it along with beliefs, helps them modify their beliefs and behavior.
