The Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology (COBIT®) is a compilation of best practices for both Governance and Management of Enterprise IT. This framework has been co-created by the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) and the IT Governance Institute (ITGI).
COBIT ® 5, the latest edition of ISACA's globally accepted framework, is applicable to all enterprises that use IT for their daily processes. It provides a comprehensive view of the governance of enterprise IT, and emphasizes the central role of information and technology in creating lasting business value for enterprises. COBIT® 5 encapsulates principles, practices, analytical tools and models that have been put together by global experts in business, IT and governance.
There are three separate qualifications: the Foundation, Implementation level and Assessment level. Obtaining the Foundation qualification will show that you have sufficient knowledge and understanding of the COBIT® 5 guidance to be able to clearly understand the governance and management of enterprise IT, assess the present state of IT and evaluate which aspects of COBIT® 5 can be successfully implemented in your organization.
