About The Event

It is about time that we offer this wonderful session to Many new members that we have in this group who would be eager to join us for social dancing!

So let's all get excited. A VERY IMPORTANT SESSION FOR EVERYONE WHO WANTS TO SOCIAL DANCE!

IF YOU HAVE NEVER DANCED BEFORE, OR HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED PARTNER DANCING, THIS SESSION IS FOR YOU.

IF YOU HAVE DANCED BEFORE, BUT HAVE NEVER BEEN EXPLAINED SOME OF THESE CORE THINGS, THIS SESSION IS FOR YOU.

There are two workshops in this event.

1) Saturday, 28th March - 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm
2) Saturday, 4th April - 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm

Following are the topics covered when you attend both workshops with respect to basics of social/partner dancing

1) Posture (different as per different dance styles)
2) Awareness of partner's center of mass
3) Connection!! (different for different dance styles)
4) Safety
5) Basic weight transfer
6) Awareness on the dance floor

After these basics, we will pick a dance style like Salsa, and learn basics of that particular dance style.

In 1st workshop on 28th March, we will concentrate on elements of partner dancing and Salsa moves in closed connection. In 2nd workshop on 4th April, we will concentrate on elements of partner dancing and Salsa moves  in open connection. Material covered in both workshops will be totally different.

It is recommended that you attend both workshops for best experience and also tickets are cheaper if you register for both. But if you are able to attend just one, there are tickets for that as well.

Finally we will open up the dance floor for the dancers to explore and try dancing with different partners.

You may not need to bring a partner with you. We will always rotate partners during the workshop and the dance, so everyone has an opportunity to dance with others. Feel free to shoot me a message or an email if you have any questions :) or reach me at 9820633374 (call or whatsapp)

1) What to wear?
Ans: Comfortable clothing. Do not wear extremely tight or extremely loose clothing.

2) Do I need to bring separate shoes for dancing?
Ans: As a general rule of thumb, dancers all over the world carry a separate pair of dance shoes which they wear on the dance floor. For this session, guys wear shoes with no or very tiny heels, smooth slick soles. No sneakers.Girls wear dance shoes that have heels, smooth slick soles. No sneakers, no flip flops, no slippers.  You do not need to buy new shoes for the 1st session, just bring the best you can. But as an etiquette do not use outdoor shoes on the dance floor
