About The Event

BANDRA! We heard you! Here we come to spread the Love of Lindy Hop and Blues! I am so excited to offer regular weekly classes for Lindy and Blues to you awesome folks in Bandra!

Everyone invited! No dance experience necessary! No partner required for registration!

Plan: Taster workshop followed by weekly intensive classes!

1) Taster workshop on 23rd September, Wednesday 8 pm to 10:30 pm

We start with this 2.5 hour intensive workshop which will get you hooked on to Lindy Hop and Blues dance styles! We will be tasting East Coast Swing, Charleston, Lindy Hop and Blues during the workshop.

Workshop Fees: Rs. 1250 ONLY for 2.5 hours! However for people who can register earlier, we are happy to offer up to 30% variable discounted registration (Tickets starting from Rs. 800 only!)

If you prefer dropping cash at the venue, it is Rs. 1100 upto 22nd September.

Regular weekly intensive course starting 7th October, every wednesday 8 pm to 10 pm

Weekly Intensive course details
a) Part 1: 12 classes (1 class = 1 hour): Beginner level Lindy Hop, Swing and Blues dancing
Wednesdays 8 pm to 10 pm: 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th October, 4th and 11th* November
*11th Nov being Diwali, the class may be accomodated on another day considering convenience of batch mates
b) Part 2: 12 classes (1 class = 1 hour): Improver level Lindy Hop, Swing and Blues dancing
Wednesdays 8 pm to 10 pm: 18th, 25th November, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th December

Fees: Part 1 [1.5 month]: 12 intensive classes: Rs. 4800 up to 22nd September, Rs. 5500 on 23rd September, Rs. 6000 on 7th October.

Fees: Part 1 and 2 [3 months]: 24 intensive classes: Rs. 9600 up to 22nd September, Rs. 10000 on 23rd September. Rs. 10800 on 7th October. After 7th October fees for part 2 will be Rs. 6000.

Payment could be made online (partial payment only) or you may drop cash at the venue.

Your journey of swing dancing is supposed to take you and make you like one of these people ;) even though you might not have danced ever before!

About the instructor: Krunal (KV) has been dancing Swing, Lindy and Blues for over 7 years now in the US and the UK! He has been to over 40+ Lindy and Blues dance exchanges and has danced with over 8000 different dancers. The only Lindy and Blues instructor in Mumbai, he has been responsible for creating a thriving Lindy and Blues scene in Mumbai since last 1 year! Over 600 people in Mumbai have learnt Lindy Hop from him in last 1 year! TIMES OF INDIA featured him on PAGE 4 with a QUARTER PAGE article on 10th June, 2015!

He is also amongst one of the chosen 40 Blues dancers around the entire world to be interviewed by an american author: Rebecca Pillsbury to share his story and journey of Blues dancing in her book "Saved by the Blues: Stories of Transformation".

Frequently asked questions:
1) What to wear?
Ans: Anything comfortable that can let you stretch and dance without restricting your or your partner's movement. Fitted shirts, t shirts, track pants, jeans work best for gentlemen. Fitted tops, track pants, skirts, jeans work best for ladies. If you wear jeans, just make sure it will let you stretch.

2) What kind of shoes?
Ans: Gentlemen: Dance shoes (or otherwise) with slick (smooth) flat soles. A tiny heel is alright. No sneakers or any shoes will rubber soles. Dance shoes with suede soles work the best.
Ladies: Dance shoes (or otherwise) with slick (smooth) flat soles. NO HEELS, NO WEDGES, NO FLOATERS, NO SNEAKERS. Dance shoes with suede soles work the best.
