About The Event

SOCH, Gurgaon, India in collaboration with Autism Movement Therapy® (AMT) Inc, USA is organizing Autism Movement Therapy® Certification International Workshop for the first time in India. Communication deficits are one of the core impairments in autism. They lead to spoken language difficulties along with a complete absence of speech in many cases.  At the same time, many children with autism are deeply engaged by music and even have exceptional musical skills.
This suggests thatauditory processing mechanisms in autism are a combination of enhancements and deficits.Additionally, the brain networks involved in processing speech and music are largely overlapping and there is new evidence to suggest that by engaging a large, multimodal network, music may be used to entrain communicative function in autism.

Surprisingly, not much is out there treatment-wise that directly helps these children to speak.

Autism Movement Therapy® (AMT):

Autism Movement Therapy® incorporates movement and music in collaboration with Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies to assist individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in meeting and achieving their speech and language, social and academic IEP goals.
