About The Event

Bombay Bassment is an award winning outfit from Mumbai that combines sounds of Hip- Hop, Reggae, Funk, and Drum & Bass. With a definitive thought of forming a Drum & Bass band, drummer Levin Mendes and bassist Ruell Barretto got together and combined forces with Robert Omulo aka Bobkat, a veteran emcee, rapper and DJ, originally from Kenya who formulates his lyrics and sound around the rhythms of his life and Chandrashekhar Kunder aka Major C, a DJ with over 15 years of experience of the Mumbai Hip-Hop scene under his belt.
The band released their self-titled debut album in 2014 through Sony Music.
Featured in The Indiecision’s list of Most Promising Indie Acts of 2010, Bombay Bassment hasn’t disappointed critics. Winning multiple awards in the first two years since their formation the band won Best Emerging Band at the 7th Annual Jack Daniel’s Rock Awards. In 2011 they won the Converse: Original Band Hunt. They also won GOLD for Best Hip Hop Group, SILVER for Best Hip Hop Song, and BRONZE in the Genre Bending Act category at the South Asian Indie Go Music Awards.
Bombay Bassment has played at some of the premier music festivals across India including the Bacardi NH7 Weekender, Ziro Festival, SulaFest, GO:Mad Festival and the Reunion Kaloobang Festival in Reunion Island.
Over the years the band has shared stages with Snoop Dogg, The Wailers, Gentleman’s Dub Club, Young the Giant, Will & The People, and Apache Indian who has even joined them on stage for their rendition of Manu Chao’s King of the Bongo.

Based out of the beautiful kumaon himalayas, IJA has been together for a year. The band comprises of Sahil Mendiratta (drum machine/synths/raps),Puneet Bhatt (guitars/vocals) and Ashhar Farooqui(synths/vocals/bass). Things started rolling for them when the trio's first release was for Dibaker Banerji's "Byomkesh Bakshi" in early 2015. The band composed the villains theme called 'Yang Guan lives'. Next came their debut ep "VitAamin Sex" last year in june and earned the band quite a following for their quirky electro pop sound. IJA is currently busy preparing for their new ep launch "Kafal Pako" for this july.
