About The Event

It gives us great pleasure to announce the first ever Annual CSR Day of HYSEA (Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association – Formerly ITsAP) on 29th September, 2014 at HICC, Hyderabad. HYSEA CSR Forum which is organizing this event in Association with NASSCOM foundation leverages collective wisdom and resources from member companies to support 'select' social causes and provides a platform to undertake community projects that lead to a positive difference for the under privileged.

It wanted to broaden the sustainability and community development topics further, by connecting with experts from consulting firms and NGOs. It also wanted to showcase to a larger audience, the efforts of the industry and how associates are contributing to both the sustainability agenda and to their own well-being through various initiatives, ideas and innovations.

Overview of the CSR Day

In today's economic and social environment, issues related to corporate social responsibility and sustainability have gained importance as Business goals are inseparable from the community and the environment in which they operate. Whilst short-term economic gain can be pursued, the failure to account for longer-term social and environmental impacts makes those business practices unsustainable. With the implementation of the new company law from April 1, India has become the only country in the world with legislated corporate social responsibility (CSR) and a spending threshold of up to $2.5 billion (Rs15,000 crore). The new CSR law mandates that all companies, including foreign firms, with a minimum net worth of Rs 500 crore, turnover of Rs1,000 crore and net profit of at least Rs 5 crore, spend at least two percent of their profit on CSR.

The objective of the Annual CSR day is to provide a platform for HYSEA member companies to:

Understand the New CSR Policy framework through panel discussions & presentations by consulting firms, Showcase/brand their CSR activities at the Expo
Sharing best practices in CSR by both IT and non-IT companies through presentations

The one day event will bring together eminent Leaders from IT and ITES Industry who are involved in CSR activities, Non-Governmental Organizations – Who work with corporate or independently to implement the CSR related projects, Consulting firms and Associates from IT & ITES Industry who are involved in CSR initiatives.
