Description

WHY A SPECIAL PROGRAM?
Women executives share different realities and problems from their male counterparts, which resulted from the socialization process, stereotyping etc. There are conflicts of traditional and modern life roles, creates a complex network of forces of pulls and pushes determining their overall effectiveness both at home and at work place. In this process, women become more concerned about living up to others expectations than deriving satisfaction from their own performance. Therefore, a need for an exclusive programme arose which will provide opportunities to develop new insights into work-family balance, their well-being, managerial effectiveness and career success.

You don’ have to act like a man to succeed in business for you will always be judged as a woman. But you can’t get ahead unless you understand the business culture and know how to use to your advantage." – Pat Helm

Women have made great strides in both business and professional world. They are emerging as a strong work force in very unconventional areas like IT, Science, Defence services traditionally dominated by men. There are however, still impediments to the best and the brightest women professionals as they struggle through the labyrinth to climb the ladder of achievement. A large number of them still occupy middle and low-level positions, managing staff roles, and a few significant numbers have reached the top.

Women cannot change or undo the family and social influences on them; they need to learn to manage their own personality more effectively. While they have to learn to succeed and fulfill their potential, they also need to resolve the issues of role expectations, role balancing and attain acceptance and respect at the work place. The effectiveness at work depends on their ability in balancing work-family and confronting the challenge of blending their strengths with appropriate managerial skills and behavior.
