About The Event

Delhi’s The Films and Theatre Society brings “Chakravyuh” on the first day of Rang Bengaluru.“Chakravyuh” features Nitish Bharadwaj as Krishna who comes back in this avatar after 25 years. It’s a step ahead from the theatre that is being done and seen for last many years as it goes back to traditional form of storytelling where a rich text takes the driving seat. Actors sing the story on their own while creating a deadly war-scene on stage to give the audiences a value for their money. The sight of a 16-year-old young fighter, who bears on his shoulder the name and legacy of the most acclaimed archer of all times, Arjuna, fighting alone with seven of the greatest warriors ever, undoubtedly gives one goose bumps. But the story of “Abhimanyu” and the “Chakravyuh” that he fought and died in has more to it and this is what this presentation tries to bring out. The questions posed by “Uttara” before Lord Krishna and other care-takers of “RIGHT” appear relevant when she asks them about the rules that were laid down before the war. Ultimately, it is and it had to be Krishna who has all the answers coming in the form of questions only. Why to mourn over the fact that “Abhimanyu” could not make his way out of the “Chakravyuh” when no one else has ever been able to do so. Everybody around is fighting in his own “Chakravyuh” and has never been able to come out of them. This whole life is a “Chakravyuh” and we all are Abhimanyu.
