DETAILS:

 

Radio-Controlled Aircraft, or RC Aircraft as it is popularly known, is an airplane that is controlled remotely. The airplane has an engine and servo motors, fixed on board, for stability and controls. The aeromodels are controlled manually from the ground using a Radio transmitter.

 

The RC Aircraft Design, Fabrication and Flying is an aeromodelling workshop that helps participants learn about the dynamics and design of an airplane. This workshop on aeromodelling would introduce the participants to the four pillars of Aerospace Engineering - Aerodynamics, Flight Mechanics, Aircraft Propulsion and Structures, with stress on the first two topics.

 

Aeromodelling is a very interesting and fun manner to learn the complex theory behind aircrafts. In this workshop, basics of electronics relevant to RC aeromodelling(radio controls, servo motors) would be covered.

 

COURSE OUTCOME:

 

• Designing a RC Aircraft from scratch
• Get to know the nuances that go into making of an aircraft
• Develop Electrical and Electrical Instrumentation idea on a RC Aircraft
• Flying Session & Efficiency Error deduction

 

WORKSHOP STRUCTURE:

 

The workshop is divided into 3 modules:

 

Theoretical Session
• Lecture on Aircraft Design and Concepts
• Understanding of concepts behind flying of Aircraft
• Aerodynamics of Aircraft
• Stability of Aircraft
• Motions of Aircraft
• Design Concept on RC Aircraft
• Design Calculation

 

Practical session I
• Designing Of Fuselage
• Fabrication of Fuselage
• Elimination of Design error
• Weight Reduction Procedure
• Understanding each concepts relating to the realistic world
• Designing of Aerofoil

 

Practical Session II
• Designing of Aircraft Wing
• Fabrication of Aircraft Wing
• Elimination of Design error
• Understanding the concept behind Aerofoil alignment
• Setting up the Electrical Materials to the Aircraft
• Getting The Aircraft Ready to Fly
• Show Your Creativity on the Aircraft Surface Design.

 

Note: Flying Session will be conducted at the end of the training by an expert Flyer of Edurade.
