About The Event

Bakri is a timeless political satire written by Sarveshwar Dayal Saxena. It is the story of three cunning hoodlums who want to become rich & famous. They do this by conning people into believing that a goat owned by a poor villager belongs to Mahatma Gandhi and that it has magical powers.

Manoj, a responsible young man questions the villagers about their belief system and tries to educate them on how they are being duped by the trio using the goat as a religious & political weapon. Politicians accuse Manoj of waging a war against Bakri mata who now is a Goddess and brand him anti-national.

The play is a socio-political statement, in the form of a satire, to show the mask of Gandhi's philosophy worn by post-independant political systems full of greed and farce.Bakri is a timeless political satire written by Sarveshwar Dayal Saxena.
