Conference Themes

The event will witness the participation of Who’s Who of the Indian telecommunications industry. Be it device manufacturers, telcos, OTT players or equipment vendors, the entire spectrum of telecom industry will be represented at 4G World India 2014. It is a must-attend event for anybody interested in the Indian mobile broadband ecosystem.

We have developed our conference agenda around three key themes, with an opening plenary, keynotes, panel discussions and tracks sessions addressing these themes dispersed throughout each day.

Strategies For 4G Success - Is heightened speed enough to help in expeditingreturn on investment? No. Though speed is the key USP of 4G networks just speed s unlikely to lead to higher ARPU. 4G LTE is fast moving to the mainstream with over 200 global developments but even so the return on investment is not guaranteed. How best can telcos drive revenues and ARPU increase with 4G?

The service providers would need to focus on new applications and also use the intelligence in their networks to drive the usage. At the same time the telcos would battle with the OTT players. Sessions in this track will discuss advanced analytics, big data, policy control and charging, dynamic pricing models, 4G device ecosystem and pricing innovation. It will also deliberate on the evolution of new business models.

4G Device and Services Ecosystem - The two main concerns of service providers are how to drive the 4G device ecosystem, and how to offer voice on 4G networks. Sessions in his track will put forth the latest developments in the 4G voice and device ecosystem with a focus on driving subscriber adoption. It will discuss the pros and cons of the different technologies and best strategies to offer voice on 4G networks.

4G Network Transformation -The year gone would be remembered as one where the telcos finally started recording a significant increase in data consumption in the country. This long awaited development led to the telcos investing in network up gradation. Most of the incumbent service providers started moving towards IPfication. This trend is likely to continue in the current year as well.

As telcos expand 3G network and gear up to launch 4G services in the country, the networks would transform and would need to accommodate newer features like small cells and WiFi. Besides new technologies like software defined networking and network functions virtualization will be incorporated to increase the efficiency of the networks.

Sessions in this track will explore the various options available in the telcos journey towards IPficiation. It will also deliberate on the new backhaul requirements of LTE and the role of Fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) in meeting these challenges. It will also talk at length on how to offer seamless LTE experience by integrating macro base stations with small cells.
